Facebook group rules templates
Five rule sets for the most common kinds of group. Copy one, adjust the details, and add an "I agree to the rules" membership question.
Business community
Entrepreneurs, coaches, agencies
1. Be kind and constructive. Disagree with ideas, never with people. 2. No unsolicited self-promotion or links. Share your offer only in the weekly promo thread. 3. No cold DMs to members. If someone didn't ask, don't pitch them. 4. Give before you ask: answer questions, share what worked for you. 5. Keep posts on topic. Off-topic posts may be removed. 6. What happens in the group stays in the group. No screenshots without permission.
Support group
Health, parenting and peer support
1. This is a judgment-free space. Be gentle with each other. 2. Respect privacy: never share posts or names outside the group. 3. No medical, legal or financial advice presented as fact. Share experiences, not prescriptions. 4. No selling, recruiting or MLM invitations. 5. Use content warnings for difficult topics. 6. If someone is in crisis, encourage them to contact local emergency services.
Local buy / sell
Marketplace and neighbourhood groups
1. Local members only. Include your area in every listing. 2. One item per post, with a price and clear photos. 3. Mark items SOLD or delete the post once gone. 4. No businesses, dropshipping or bulk resellers without admin approval. 5. Meet in public places. Admins are not responsible for transactions. 6. No haggling in the comments. Message the seller instead.
Course students
Paid courses and memberships
1. This group is for enrolled students only. Do not share course materials outside it. 2. Post questions in the weekly Q&A thread so answers help everyone. 3. Share your wins! Celebrate other students too. 4. No promoting other courses or programs. 5. Be patient: the team answers questions within 2 business days.
Professional network
Industry and career groups
1. Use your real name and keep a professional tone. 2. Job posts must include role, location/remote, and pay range. 3. No recruiting spam or mass connection requests. 4. Cite sources when sharing data or news. 5. Confidential company information stays out of the group.
